Noah turns 2

My baby turned 2! Noah is a big boy now, he proved it by trying to get his birthday presents down from a top the entertainment center all by himself. We had a wonderful day together on Noah's birthday. Sam and I put up streamers and blew up several balloons to make the house festive. Noah's birthday was the same day our our Primary's Faith carnival, so I wanted to be sure Noah wasn't forgotten in all the busy-ness. When the boys woke up to go read books they found balloons to play with instead. They happily romped around in the balloons, shrieking in delight. It wasn't long before Noah noticed the gifts stowed out of his reach, but he made a pretty good effort at trying to get them down. We made him his favorite breakfast, pancakes, and then headed over to the church to set up for the Activity. Then we came home, and had a quick lunch, and then started the real party. Harrison has always thought that the cake is the most important part of the whole birthday celebration - maybe that's because there isn't usually much beyond a cake at our parties... But Noah and Harrison were quite delighted by the bob the builder cake. The cake doubled as a gift also - I used some die cast bob the builder characters to decorate it. Noah loved it. He decided Lofty would be a good utensil, and ended up eating much of his cake by dipping the blue crane into the cake and licking it. Noah also loved singing Happy Birthday to himself all day long. It has become a favorite song, and he still requests it regularly at bed time. We opened some gifts, and Noah showed that he knew just what to do with wrapped presents - rip them open!
